Aqua Sana at CenterParcs Elvedon Forest

It's a bit of a tradition in my family to head over to the Center Parcs resort in Elvedon Forest once a year for a bit of R&R. We normally go at the start of Autumn, which personally I think is the best time to visit, as what could be better than sinking your teeth into a great book whilst relaxing in your cosy cabin the heart of the forest on a cold, crisp evening... I'll wait.

As we do every year, we headed to the Aqua Sana Spa located at the edge of the complex, away from the hustle and bustle of the village. I was particularly excited as I was away travelling last year so had missed the occasion to visit- and my how it was good to return. I think this is probably one of the best spas I've ever had the pleasure of visiting - and trust me I've visited many, as a bit of a spa fanatic you can usually find me scouring Groupon for spa deals.

For a 3 hour session at Aqua Sana its £36 which may seem a little steep, however with that you do get a robe, use of over 6 different hot rooms, the outside hydro-pool, the relaxation beds and an unlimited supply of rather tasty apples. I think what makes this place special is the variety of steam rooms and saunas to try, from the authentic Indian steam room to the quirky relaxation room, there are so many different options you will find yourself darting from one to the other in a bid to try them all.

I think my favorite has to be the Turkish Hammam steam room, not only does it give out an incredible amount of steam, but the scent which accompanies it is so relaxing and soothing, and masks that sweaty body odor smell you sometimes find in a steam room. One thing I will say about this spa is that they definitely consider everyone needs and offer some rooms which aren't as hot or overpowering, for those who cant take the heat - although I do prefer a stronger steam room myself.

The Hydro pool which is situated just outside is also a favorite at the complex, we visited the spa at night this time which was so lovely, especially as it was a clear night. I will say that the temperature of the pool could be a little higher, but maybe that's just because I'm use to super hot baths so anything under scorching just wont cut the mustard.

At 8pm we retreated to the restaurant situated just outside of the spa where we enjoyed a glass of Prosecco, they opened a new bottle which is always a treat- no one wants a flat glass of bubbly!

At 9pm it was sadly time to depart, so we headed back to the changing rooms which are wonderfully designed and so spacious and clean. On the way out we of course made a B-line straight to the skincare testers, offering skincare brands such as Elemis & Decleor, this means you can finish of your spa experience trying out all their lovely oils and creams to really give your skin a bit of a treat.
